We are what we eat! Food is perhaps one of the most important means to staying fit and healthy. Bhoomi Ka presents traditional recipes using local and seasonal ingredients that offer a perfect fusion of taste and goodness!

Chickpeas or Kabuli channa is a popular ingredient in various dishes across India. Here is a recipe presented by Bhoomi Ka at an event held at an organic farmers’ market in Delhi.

Channa Masala

Chickpeas, previously soaked and boiled 2 cups
Cumin seeds, dry roasted and then powdered ½ tea spoon
Coriander seeds
(Whole, dry roasted and powdered)
½ tea spoon
Water 2 cups
Tamarind pulp – lemon-sized ball, soaked and pulp removed
Salt ½ tea spoon/as per taste

Soak channa over night. Next morning, boil channa with salt, water, roasted cumin and coriander powder. Once done, add tamarind pulp. Add garnishing.

Serve with Kulcha (bread) or eat it solo as a snack. 

For garnishing:


Green chili 2, finely chopped
Ginger 1 inch piece, finely chopped
Onion 2 medium size, finely chopped
