Bhoomi Ka Raggi Colony Queen Contest covered in Khabar Mantra!
A successful conclusion to our current series of the Raggi Colony Queen Masterchef was gilded with a mention in the popular local Jamshedpur daily, Khabar Mantra.
Kudos to all those participated and many thanks to the journalists who are promoting the concept of Clean, Green and Safe food for all by writing about the Bhoomi Ka initiative and its events. Organic World Congress and BIOFACH
OWC and Biofach during 9-11 November 2017 in Indian Expo Mart. Noida was a great opportunity for launching Bhoomi Ka where the organic world met together. It was also a trial for the likes and dislikes of the customers about the products. BhoomiKa launched 11 small holder products, the set of posters, brochure, the brand and the website. There were 15 farmers from Bengal, Odhisha, Jharkhand and Himachal – interaction with them was one of the key attraction for the stall in OWC Apeda Hall. There was also one exhibition of agro biodiversity of Niyamgiri Hills, which drew attention of many. There was also cooking demonstration in the stall. BhoomiKa also had a stall in Biofach, to foster the business opportunities. BhoomiKa as a platform also introduced the work of the network partners by sharing space. The uniqueness of the products and connecting the food chain of farmer-retailer-consumer was the key aspect of BhoomiKa which drew a good number of visitors, including journalists, businessman, scientists, consumers, activists from across the globe. BhoomiKa was launched by Dr. S.K. Malhotra, Agriculture Commissioner, Dept of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Shri Bharat Bhushan Tyagi, Dharti Mitr Awardee – Best Organic Farmer in India and Dr. Krishan Chandra, Director, National Center of Organic Farming.
Women and Organic Products – Dilli Haat
The first of its kind Women of India Exhibition with the theme ‘Women and Organic Products’ was held at ‘Dilli Haat’ INA in New Delhi in October 2017.
Over 500 women artisans /entrepreneurs across the country came together with their organic products, such as tribal and ethnic foods, pickles and preserves, rice, pulses, spices, vegetables and fruits, fabrics, dyes and dresses, cosmetics and household products, in the exhibition.
Bhoomi Ka and its partners, DRCSC, CWS and Living Farms were represented at the exhibition. Bhoomi Ka also presented tasty street food made by Janpahal, an association of street vendors in Delhi, associated with and trained by Bhoomi Ka, with ingredients sourced from Bhoomi Ka farmers.
The Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi visited the Bhoomi Ka stall.
