Introducing ‘Bhoomi Ka – India for Eco Food’
‘India for Eco Food’ is an initiative that seeks to link all people in the food supply chain to ensure ‘Clean, Green and Fair’ food that’s responsibly grown and for which the smallholder farmer gets a fair price. From fresh vegetables and fruit to grains, pulses, lentils, cereals and seeds – you can buy all these on a regular basis under the brand/mark ‘Bhoomi Ka’, promoted by this movement. You can also get connected to the small farmer, who grows food for you or even get assistance to start your own food garden – all through Bhoomi Ka.
- Bhoomi Ka helps smallholder farmers to farm ecologically, getting a PGS certificate, taking the surplus to a retail chain and creating a market for them by sensitising consumers and increasing awareness of ‘Clean, Green and Fair’.
- Bhoomi Ka as a platform: Bringing in smallholder producers, retailers and consumers together so that everybody involved in the flow of food, understands each other’s need and support each other.
- Bhoomi Ka as a brand of standards: Working to introduce the concept of ‘Clean, Green and Fair’, and sensitising trade, consumers and the public at large, for smallholder products across the country with the possibility of creating co-branding.
Bhoomi Ka provides information, organises fairs, exhibitions, workshops and awareness sessions for schools, colleges and the general public, on issues like clean, green and fair food habits, sustainable living, urban gardening and cooking.
We have initiated Bhoomi Ka in West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand.
